HOW TO ARRIVE IN VENICE

By plane:
From the airport Marco Polo you have a lot of possibilities to reach the historical centre of Venice:
Taxi by car: in 15 minutes you'll arrive in Piazzale Roma, the cost is 30€ about (radiotaxi Mestre tel. +39-041-936222). Then, from Piazzale Roma you can reach the centre of the city on foot or by waterbus ACTV.
Taxi by launch: the taxi lauches are private motorboats used for the transport of the passengers. They are smaller than the public waterbus (maximum 12 persons) and the fastest means of transport to reach the centre of Venice - 30 minutes - but also the most expensive.
Bus navetta ATVO: it links the airport with Piazzale Roma in 20 minutes. Departure every half-an-hour. The ticket costs 3 € and includes the transport of the baggage. You can consult www.atvo.it to have more information about the bus ATVO timetables.
Bus ACTV: by the bus ACTV you can arrive in Piazzale Roma in 30 minutes paying 1€ only. The cost of the baggage is not included, for each suitcase you have to pay a supplement.
Motoscafi Linea Alilaguna Blu e Rossa: they are private motorboats which take you from the airport to Venice. This service is economical. There are two lines: the Alilaguna Rossa line stops at Murano, Lido, Arsenale, San Marco e Zattere and the Alilaguna blu stops at Fondamenta Nuove and at San Marco. It is also active a shuttle service which links the airport with the maritime station. The price varies from 5€ to 13€ (for the link from the airport to the Harbour Station) and includes the transport of the baggage. To more information about the prices and the navigation timetables you can consult www.alilaguna.com.

By car:
Venice is easy to reach thanks to the numerous motorway connections (A4 from Trieste and from Torino, A27 from Belluno, A13 from Bologna) and road connections (SS.309 Romea from costa Adriatica, SS.14 from Trieste, SS.13 from Treviso, SS.11 from Padova).
When you arrive near to the lagoon, you have to cross the Ponte della Libertà which links the mainland with Venice. Arrived in Piazzale Roma, you have to park your car.
These are the car parks you can use: Autorimessa Comunale, Garage S.Marco, S.Andrea. You can use also the car park in isola del Tronchetto. You have the possibility to leave the car in Mestre - in the car parks near the Ponte della Libertà or near the railway station of Mestre - and to reach Venice by the public transport.

By train: Venice has got only one station called Santa Lucia Railway Station. The Eurostar, Intercity, Interregional and locals trains link the station with the rest of Italy (to have information about the train timetables you can consult www.trenitalia.it). There are special trolleis you can use to transport your baggage or, if you prefer, you can leave them at the left-luggage office opened every day since 04.30 to 00.30. For the transport of your baggage through the city, you can apply to Cooperativa Trasbagagli (Tel.+39-041-5203070).
